I've updated the league spreadsheet. The Jimmy Devlin is the club 10 TT championship and has bonus points. Good win Stu! I also overlooked the fact that the Grove RR was a bonus race and have ammended the points accordingly. Please check the spreadsheet and email me if you are owed points for marshalling or if I haven't given you the right results.

due to the road works, the course was hurriedly changed. this morning i checked out downloads on excel.wood green is coming out at 10.05 miles (3 races) ballydonaghy 10.04 (2 races) this means my computor is 70 to 88 yards off.last nights new course measured 10.12 miles ,an error of .08of a mile.this works out at 11seconds long as i was at 30mph crossing the line.(different for others). the start and finish should be 88yards closer to glenavy.also safer as the double white line ends about there .c.m.c

Maybe we can move the start a bit further down and the finish back a bit because being close to those white lines makes it very dangerous. When Paul started there was a lot of traffic coming down the hill and for me observing it looked very scary.

The crawler lane they have added on the opposite side of the road has made the start area very dangerous in my opinion as motorists are forced to stay close to the riders, and they are coming down that hill at some speed.

Inspite of the way the road is marked, the old start is still the widest section of road, and in that much, it gives cars more room to manoevre.

The start from last night was AFTER where all the cars have been squeezed in.
I reckon the old one was safer, and moving the start slightly UP the hill, safer still.

I agree Davy.

Yesterday the Halian and I both thought the old start near the top of the hill was better, also more downhill so faster times ;D

Hi guys,

This is Jimmy Devlin's son here paul, i just wanted to say how honoured i am to see you guys doing well in this race that honours my fathers memory. It give me goose bumps to see a Jimmy Devlin message board, my father loved cycling and some of you may know he was killed at the maracycle in 1987 when knocked down by a shogun jeep. I just thought id drop you guys a note to say a huge thanks from all the Devlin family and wish you's all many safe and happy years doing the sport you's love,

thanks guys

Hello Paul, and thanks for visiting our website. This years "Jimmy

Devlin", due on 31 May, unfortunately had to be postponed at

short notice due to roadworks. Phoenix hope to run it at some

later stage...keep watching this space.

The Memorial races help us keep in mind with affection old

comrades such as your late father, who would no doubt still have

been active with the club.

Nice to hear from you Paul. I was just thinking on the way to work that i'd post a message about this years Jimmy Devlin and also the club 25TT championships - both were postponed earlier in the season, with time running out are there any plans to run these 2 events this season?
