Phoenix Cycling Club welcomes all cyclists to participate in its annual sportive, ‘The Divis Challenge’, on the 28th June starting at Lamh Dhearg GAA complex in Hannahstown, just outside Belfast. The event is in its second year and is building on the success of the inaugural Sportive which took place in May last year. This year, Phoenix CC is promoting two tours; The 160Km Sportive and the 100Km Leisure Challenge. Check out the link below for more details

Just heard from National Trust this morning that the MOD has vacated the mountain top which means that now the Sportive can go right up to the summit, I believe that the views are spectacular. A Divis Challenge it certainly is

Just checked out the photos of the finish of last years sportive at the top of Divis on the phoenix website http://www.phoenixcc.net/
The last 10 mile are hard and the last mile up the mountain is savage. No question - this is a real challenge - but is this the toughest finish of a sportive in Ulster / Ireland??

It's probably the toughest finish of any sportive in Ireland but the North Pole CC Tour of Inishowen is undoubtedly the toughest on the calendar. See pics of todays event at http://www.cyclingulster.com

I should be able to help with the sign-on, and will bring some sandwiches. Sorry cant promise to do anything later due to a family occasion. Do the other volunteers know that donations of grub will be welcome....or has the club arranged for catering?

What a great ride today. Loved the changes to the course, and the weather was pretty good too. Definitely faster this year, think our bunch averaged around 19mph, last year was more like 17mph.
that finish at the top of divis doesn't get any easier ! My legs are sore..
many thanks so all those that helped out the food was great, the directions were super clear and most importantly of all that mutt at the top of divis road was locked up
